KARACHI - The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday claimed to have busted three operatives of defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and seized a suicide jacket and weaponry from them. SSP CID (Operations) Fayyaz Khan said that Sahib Khan alias Qasai was arrested from Sohrab Goth area while two of his accomplices, identified as Rujhan Khan and Mohammad Ali were arrested in separate raids from elsewhere in the City. SSP Khan explained that the terrorists had been planning reorganisation of Taliban network and carrying out terror activities including suicide bombing in the City. During the initial course of interrogation, Sahib Khan has revealed that they are associated with the TTP commander (Farooqi group) and is the hardcore terrorist from Swat, he quoted. The SSP said that the culprit told the police that he had been involved in various subversive activities including murders, kidnapping-for-ransom, killing of Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel, attack on police stations, in an attack on Awami National Party leader Lala Afzal Khan in Swat and in bomb blast on girls schools. About another culprit Ali, the SSP said that Ali had been involved in kidnapping-for-ransom of the students from schools in the City along with his group members Farooq, Naveed alias Gainda, Adnan, Mujahid, Saleem Bengali and Aqeel from different parts including Korangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Further investigation is underway, he said.
