KARACHI - A huge rally of the Sindh Tarqi Passand Party (STPP) on Thursday demanded immediate expulsion of illegal immigrants, who entered the province after 1954, and right of rule on Sindh and its resources including oil, gas, Indus River, Karachi port and natural resources be reserved for the locals. He said: If free and fair elections will held, the MQM will be restricted to two towns of the City. Under the slogan of 'Karachi is Sindh rally, led by STPP chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, was started from Mazar-e-Quaid and turned into a mass gathering at Tibet Centre on MA Jinnah Road. Thousands of people from all over the province participated in the protest rally. Workers and representatives from Awami Tehreek, Jamhori Watan Party of late Akbar Bugti, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Muhaz, Sindh National Front and other political parties also took part in the rally. Addressing the rally, Magsi said that the main objective of this mass gathering was to prove that Karachi owns by the indigenous people of Sindh. He criticised the statements of political leaders who are claiming for the ownership of Karachi and had raised slogans like 'Adha Tumhara Adha Hamara. He warned them that Karachi is Sindh and will remain part of it forever. He was too critical of MQM as well as City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and alleged that development works in City had been carried on ethnic basis. He blamed that flyovers and roads are being constructed in particular parts of the City but Kemari, Lyari, Bin Qasim and other rural areas were still deprived of basic facilities like water, health and education. He made it clear that people from India, Bangladesh, Burma and other countries came after 1954, residing in Sindh are illegal immigrants and should be expelled immediately. Nationalist leader also criticised over 'I own Karachi programme of City nazim and said that Karachi is owned by the indigenous people of Sindh. People of Sindh will not surrender before the anti social elements of the City. The Sindhis own Karachi before creation of Pakistan and will fight for right of its ownership and its resources, he warned. Magsi opposed the terminology of mini Pakistan for Karachi, saying that people of Sindh will not allow to make it physical. He said that Sindhis were peaceful and secular but would not remain silent to let their motherland into international orphanage. He condemned the target killings of Shaheed Nisar Baloch and other baloch political workers in Karachi added that in the name of drug mafia and gang war atrocities have been started against innocent Baloch in Lyari. Magsi said that people of Sindh paid sacrifices of their siblings in Karachi for PPP and their leaders but despite having President, Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Chief Minister of Sindh from PPP, the rural areas of the City were still neglected besides the doors of the educational institutions were closed for the students from these areas. He opposed the recent announcement of President Asif Ali Zardari of construction of 8 dams and said that people of Sindh would not accept any dam on Indus River. He alleged that Musharraf was responsible for assassination of Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti but PPP has sold the blood of their Shaheed leader. Magsi further said that majority of the Karachiites were silent due to fear and terror of anti social elements. If free and fair elections held, the MQM will be restricted to two towns of the City. He made appeal to the people of Karachi that they should come out of fear and STPP will be here as their voice in City.
