KARACHI: Provincial health minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has directed the heads of government hospitals not to take fee from poor patients and their fee may be deposited from patients welfare funds.This he said during his surprise visit to Civil Hospital Hyderabad.

He was annoyed to see that more money was being charged for x-rays than 50 rupees prescribed by the government. He directed the MS civil hospital Hydrabad to take action against those who were charging extra money.

He requested the people to contact at his office nos 02199217347 and 02199217346 in case of any complaint against any government hospital. He assured the people that government was spending billions rupees in health sector and the people should get benefit of it and he would not tolerate any negligence in this regard. He added, he would pay surprize vists to all government hospitals to inspect himself that what was going on over there.
He also asked all Medical Superintendents of public sector hospitals to establish patient-friendly-environment in hospitals to facilitate the patients.
