Seminary administrator among three killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Three persons including an administrator of a seminary were killed and about 16 others injured in separate incidents of violence here on Tuesday. The police arrested more than 10 accused of different crimes, recovered arms, drugs and other looted valuables from their possession.

SP Gulshan Dr. Fahad said that two armed men who came on a motorcycle barged into office of a seminary in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block VI of the metropolis city of Karachi and opened indiscriminate fire.

Administrator of the seminary Mufti Kamran died and Mufti Ghulam Anwar sustained critical wounds in the firing and the assailants sped away after committing the crime.  Mufti Ghulam Anwar later also succumbed to his injuries.

Another person was killed and 16 others injured in separate incidents of firing in Korangi, Malir, East& North Karachi who were shifted to different hospitals for treatment and according to hospital sources condition of several among the injured was critical.

The metropolis police conducted operation against the outlaws across the city during which it apprehended more than 10 suspects involved in target killing, collecting extortion, robberies, drugs peddling and other crimes. Arms, drugs, looted valuables were recovered from the possession of the detainees who were being interrogated.

The police after registering separate cases in all incidents at respective police stations have started the investigation.
