Maqsood Qureshi and Salman were found dead in their car near Bhiria Road on Friday. Qureshi was the brother of late JSQM chief Bashir Khan Qureshi.
Following the killings, JSQM activists staged protests in several cities of the province including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shahdadkot and Larkana.
JSQM’S FREEDOM MARCH TODAY: Rejecting the proposal of Karachi administration to shift or postpone its event, the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) leadership has announced that party will take out freedom march at MA Jinnah Road on the eve of Pakistan Day today in Karachi.
The other religious groups have also planned their gathering at the same venue on Pakistan Day where the Sindh’s nationalist party, JSQM, is taking out the freedom march, posing a threat of confrontation between them.
To avoid any untoward incident, the Commissioner Karachi along with AIG police and other officers held a meeting with the JSQM leadership urging them to postpone their rally or shift it to any other place.
However, JSQM Chairman Sunan Qureshi, son of party’s former chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi, who was killed in mysterious circumstances, rejected the proposal of Commissioner Karachi and Additional IGP Sindh police, announcing to take out freedom march at the MA Jinnah Road, where they will bring the burnt bodies of the party leaders Maqsood Qureshi and Salman Wadho, who were found dead with their burnt bodies in Behria Town in Naushero Feroze district.
When contacted, Vice Chairman JSQM Dr Niaz Kalani appealed to the people of Sindh to gather in Karachi at MA Jinnah Road for the freedom march on Sunday. He said they would not take their step back as they were follower of Sindh’s nationalist leader GM Syed.
He said they were doing peaceful struggle but establishment and security agencies were killing JSQM workers forcing them to adopt the other path.
Meanwhile, various cities and towns including Larkana, Jamshoro, Naushero Feroze, Nawabshah and other areas of Sindh remained closed to mourn two JSQM leaders’ assassination.
