Woman killed for ‘honour’; two bodies recovered

KARACHI – A woman was killed for “honour” while two bodies were recovered in separate incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday.A man stabbed his wife to death for “honour” in Arfat Town of North Nazimabad area. Ghulam Baqar surrendered to local police, after killing Sajida, 35, his spouse.  In his statement, the accused contended that his wife had “illicit relations with some people”. He claimed that “Sajida was talking over mobilephone while he was asleep” and when he asked her about it, she plainly denied, and switched off her cellphone. This resulted in a lethal quarrel. The killer further said he pulled out a dagger and stabbed Sajida to death.The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. Later, it was handed over to the heirs.  According to SHO Kamal Naseem, the victim had five children and hailed from Rajanpur, Punjab. Separately, body of an unidentified woman was recovered from Musharraf Colony. SHO Mohammad Atif said the victim, who appeared to be appears to Seraiki, had been shot in the temple after being abducted by unidentified assassins, against whom a case had been registered. After postmortem at the Civil Hospital Karachi, the body was moved to the Edhi Morgue for identification. Another unidentified body was recovered near Maymar intersection on Super Highway. According to SHO Azhar Ali Iqbal, the victim appeared to be Seraiki. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities and later moved to the Edhi Morgue for identification. A case has been registered against unidentified killers.
