KMC finalises arrangements for central procession

KARACHI – Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Administrator Hussain Syed has said that all arrangements for providing municipal facilities to central procession were finalized. Five emergency centres at Mazar-e-Quaid, NJV School, Mama Parsi School, Old KMC building and Bolton Market had been established where fire brigade, ambulances, city wardens, medical and rescue unit vehicles, officers and staff will be present.He said this while addressing a meeting held on Ashura Muharram. The meeting was attended by Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan, Director General Technical Services Altaf G Memon, S and other officers.Administrator Karachi said that five fire tenders, water bowsers, ambulances, rescue unit and city wardens will be present at emergency centers all the time whereas two separate centres along with snorkel and heavy machinery in Kakri Ground and Polo Ground will also be established.He said that the arrangements of providing emergency medical facilities to central processions were finalised in all City and all big hospitals with medical staff under the arrangements of KMC were made high alert and all necessary medicines were provided whereas emergency duty schedule of doctors and paramedical staff had been issued.Central Control Room was also established at Civic Center for providing medical facilities whereas town health officers will be present in their towns and these control rooms will remain open 24 hours from 8th to 10th Muharram.He said that medical camps of necessary medicines were established in the routes of central procession which could provide emergency medical treatment at any time. He said that temporary fire stations in compounds of Mazar-e-Quaid and Old KMC Building were established and these fire stations will be in contact with central fire station.Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed said that Muharram-ul-Haram was very important month and all officers should perform their responsibilities properly so that citizens will not have to face any incontinence during processions.Meanwhile, speakers on the various gatherings of Muharram have said that the government has failed to protect the precious of lives from the brutal attacks of so-called Jihadis, and said that ban on mobile phone service and use of motorcycles on 9th and 10th Muharram is not a permanent solution to the problem of suicide bombings.“Attacks on the unarmed citizens during Namaz and Majalis are heinous crimes and shameful acts, which reveals that Taliban and other banned jihadis’ outfits have no idea about the teachings of Islam and great Prophet (PBUH). The extremists and so-called Jihadis are killing innocent people on the name of religion, which is totally against the great idea of Islam,” they said while speaking at the central majalis held in various Imambarghas and mosques on Thursday.Speaking at the central Majils at Imambarghah Islamic Research Centre, Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi said that illiterate and ignorant people have become jihadis who are creating mess in the country. He said that all sects of Islam follow the teachings of Quran and the prophet; they have the same center of Kaba then why these criminals are targeting people on the name of sects.Speaking on the Majlis, held at the Imambargah of Malir Urdu Nagar, Molana Sadiq Raza Taqvi pointed out that some culprits are trying to keep Pakistanis away from international issues like Palestine by carrying out bombings and suicide bombings especially in the metropolis. He denounced the terrorists’ attack on the mourners of Imam Hussain (A.S.) in various parts of the country. He stated that the recent wave of terrorism in Pakistan, especially in Karachi, is a part of an international conspiracy.  Molana Shehanshah Naqvi addressed Majlis of Nishtar Park. On the other hand, Ayatullah Aquil-ul-Gharavi of India addressed at the house of Late Ali Mutaqi Jaffari, Allama Talib Johri spoke at at Samirra Imambargah (New Rizvia Society) and Shuhda-e-Karbala (Incholi), and highlighted the great role of Imam Hussain for the sake of Islam. Allama Zaki Baqri addressed various gatherings, held at Sharikat-ul-Hussain, Husainia Iranian and Mehfil-e-Khurasan in connection with Ashra-e-Majalis, while Molana Muhammad Ali Naqvi delivered speech at Mehfil-e-Murtaza (PECHS).
