JI demands withdrawal of 30pc KE tariff hike

KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has rejected massive increase of 30 percent in electricity tariff and announced that it would declare its strategy soon in this regard.
It was also decided in a high-level meeting of the JI leaders on Sunday that the campaign against misdeeds of the K-Electric be enhanced. The JI leaders reached on the consensus that KE should be nationalize as its privatisation failed to achieve its goals. The JI leaders said that the then Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) was privatize to end the lead shedding and other issues, however the situation in this regard became worst from bad so the entity should be penalized. JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on the occasion strictly criticized the government for its psychopath behavior over the miseries of poor Karachites.
He said that the 30 percent rise in the tariff is quite unjust and unbearable.
He demanded of the government to bound KE for immediate withdrawal of the raise and phase wise redressal of overbilling, load shedding and other issues.
The JI leader lambasted the KE administrating for irking the lives on citizens. He said that instead of providing relief to the masses before Eidul Azha, the KE administration dropped a bombshell of 30 percent rise in the tariff, which is condemnable.
