The syndicate members expressed satisfaction on implementation of presidential orders, issued by Asif Ali Zardari, on May 18, 2010 with regards to the SMIU and resolved that the remaining presidential orders should be implemented on priority basis.
It was also resolved that the land on which 62 shops are built in the premises of SMIU is solely a government land, and its ownership lies with the government and Sindh Madressatul Islam University.
The syndicate decided that the legal procedure would be adopted for re-possession of the occupied land.
With reference to S.M, Science College, it was resolved that since SM Science College housed in three old buildings of SMI-Hassanally House (built in 1909), Khairpur House (built in 1912) and Sardar House (built in 1919), therefore, according to the provision of SMIU’s act, it was a part of SMIU.
Hence, a request on behalf of the SMIU syndicate would be made to the Sindh Government to declare S.M. Science College as a part of SMIU, opined the syndicate members.
In this respect it was decided that those employees of S.M.  Science College, who are not willing to work with SMIU, should be transferred to the nearby government colleges and those, who are willing to become a part of SMIU, should be given one grade higher than their previous grade according to the HEC policy.
The meeting decided that formalities for the possession of 100 acres of land, granted to SMIU, by the Sindh government, in the Education City must be materialized without any unnecessary delay.
The syndicate decided that a letter would be written to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for possession of a building, which was earlier given for SMIU by the federal government for SMIU’s Islamabad campus.
In this regard three syndicate members, who are also members of National Assembly Dr. Azra Fazal Pechooho, Dr. Nafisa Shah and Syed Ameer Ali Shah Jamot will call on the prime minister and shall make a request to him to order the possession of a building for Islamabad campus of the Quaid’s alma mater.
