KARACHI - Pakistan People’s Party on Sunday observed the 5th death anniversary of the wife of the PPP Founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and party leader Begum Nusrat Bhutto and organised prayer sessions at district level, where party officials also shed light on her services for the revival of democracy in the country.

Addressing a ceremony at PPP Sindh Secretariat which was also attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Rashid Rabbani and other PPP Leaders, Nisar Khuhro said that they pay rich tribute to the services rendered by Begum Nusrat Bhutto for the democratic system in the country.

He said that likewise Ziaul Haq, the dictators had always tried to remove those having roots within people and ZA Bhutto also faced similar situation but Nusrat Butto courageously faced the situation and took hold of the party.

He said that PPP had always stood against the dictatorial rule in the country contrary to Nawaz Sharif who fled the country after agreeing on terms of a dictator and Imran Khan who reacts on a whistle from certain quarters.

He further said that Bilawal Bhutto is also following the footsteps of his family members and would lead the party to victory in 2018.

Meanwhile in a statement issued on Sunday, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on information, Moula Bux Chandio said that the ‘Mother of Democracy Begum Nusrat Bhutto’s sacrifices for democracy will always be remembered.

Begum Nusrat Bhutto fought valiantly against the most horrible dictatorship and faced difficulties and imprisonment. He said that we pay homage/tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto on her 5th death anniversary as the PPP will never forget her struggles against the dictatorial regime.

He further said that after the Shahadat of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, she motivated people for restoration of democracy, during that hard time she never dropped her moral and she fought strongly against the Dictator and played a vital role to restoration and strengthen the democracy.

He said now she is no more in this world but her role for the democracy can not be forgotten by the people of Pakistan. She will always dwell in the heart of masses.

A ceremony was held in this connection at Peoples Secretariat Mir Ali Bux Talpure at Kot Ghulam Muhammad town that was attended by hundreds of PPP workers including women and office bearers.

Speaking on the occasion, chairman district council Mirpurkhas Mir Anwer Ali Khan Talpure paid rich tribute to late Nusrat Bhutto for her services for down trodden people. He expressed that she had played very important role in the tenure of dictator Ziaul Haq and strengthen the democracy in the country by her great leadership.

He further said that she had suffered great tortures along with her family members and workers in the dictatorship regime.

He said that his father late Mir Ali Bux Khan Talpure, ex-MNA remained in struggle with her during dictator rule in the country and also given sacrifices for the party and democracy. He said that due to her struggle today also Bhutto name was live in the hearts of masses and democracy was restored in the country.

Ex-president PPP taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad and district council Member Azmina Nazeer Chandio said that Late Mohtarma Nusrat Bhutto was the great leader and first lady of the country and she had born the international leader Shaheed Mohtarma Benazeer Bhutto.

She had lost her two sons Shahnawaz Bhutto and Murtaza Bhutto in struggle for restoration of democracy in the country and also lost her daughter Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, she added.

Mir Shahdain Ali Khan Talpure, former MPA Shamim Aara Panhwer, Mir Hassan Dhonkai and others also spoke on the occasion.

Later, special prayers were held for Nusrat Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and martyrs of Pak Army busy against terrorism.
