Sattar vows to defend Mohajir community

KARACHI - In response to emergence of a new group being run under the supervision of the MQM London chapter, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan Chief Dr Farooq Sattar has said that MQM is registered with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on behalf of his name and he is enjoy the leadership.

But some elements were making efforts to mislead the Mohajir Community and were bonding the issues with August 22 incident amid to push in entire community in dark dell.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference on Sunday at party temporary headquarters in PIB colony Karachi. MQM Pakistan coordination committee members Khalid Maqbool Siddiuqi, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Sarddar Ahmed, Senator Nasreen Jalil, Amir Khan, Arshad Vohra and other were also present on the occasion.

Asking party supporters and workers to evade any confusion, Sattar ask over to express confidence on MQM Pakistan leadership and claimed that MQM Pakistan chapter is the only party of the Mohajir community that has been struggling along with country other deprived entities for their rights.

He said that earlier we disassociate the party with the leadership that raised the anti-state slogans on August 22 but it is unfortunate that some elements on the behest of London were making efforts to push Mohajir community towards destruction.

On the occasion, Sattar announce that party has decided to initiate a big public campaign in which party leaders will hold corner meetings in various parts of the city. Furthermore MQM Pakistan will also launch its 100 days public service program amid to resolve the public issues.

Narrating the program, MQM Pakistan Chief said that the 100 days public service programs includes the utilization of the Karachi Mayor, MPAs and MNAs funds for the repair roads, cleanliness work of the streets, water and sewerage works, maintenance of hospitals, dispensaries, schools and others.

MQM Pakistan once again appeals federal and provincial government to halt the discrimination with stake holder of urban region of Sindh and provide space to run political affair in free atmosphere, said Sattar adding that the Mohajirs had given countless sacrifices for the country and it should be brought under consideration.

Turning his guns towards PPP led provincial government; MQM Pakistan Chief said that it is matter of the concern that the ruling government has taken all local government resources under its supervision and had left just few vehicles and municipal workers for the elected Mayor of Karachi.

In the current situation dispute of KDA and KMC were on the move while payment of employees salaries has became a headache for the Mayor Karachi. A part from this effort was underway to terminate 130 employees of SITE limited, he added and demanded Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to regularize all the such employees.
