Coastguards seize 597-kg hashish

KARACHI – The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) seized a huge quantity of hashish from Naka Khari Check Post near Windar, Balochistan.According to a statement, PCG officials received credible information from intelligence resources about the smuggling of narcotics from RCD Highway near Naka Khari Check Post at Windar. A special mobile patrol was constituted for snap checking in the area. During the checking, PCG officials stopped a suspicious Hino truck loaded with apple crates. The PCG officials asked the truck driver to stop but truck driver try to escape from the site. After few kilometers, driver stop the truck and managed to escape from the scene. The PCG officials confiscated the truck.On searching the truck, PCG officials recovered approx 597 kilograms of fine quality of hashish. A man was taken into custody along with Hino truck. Approx value of hashish in the market is Rs 1, 40, 00000. Further investigation is under way by the PCG Special investigation team.
