Violence devours six more

KARACHI – Three people were shot dead, while three bullet-riddled bodies were found from different areas in the metropolis on Sunday.
According to details, a man was gunned down near Parda Park in Nazimabad area. Police said the victim, Sheikh Mohsin, 32, son of Sheikh Qasim, was on his way on his car after dropping his mother and sister at his uncle’s house, when unidentified armed riders opened fire on him and fled. He sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. Police said Qasim used to work for a newspaper till 2010. Investigation is in progress.
A bullet-riddled body was found near Gujjar Nala, Naziamabad. Police said the victim identified as Shakeel, 28, son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Lyari, was kidnapped from somewhere by unidentified culprits and later his body was found at the said place. The body was taken to ASH for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained. Investigation is under way.
Separately, two bodies riddled with bullet were found near Chamra Chowrangi. Police said identification of the victims was yet to be ascertained. They aged around 20 or 23 year. The bodies were moved to a morgue after postmortem at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Police said unidentified culprits had kidnapped them from somewhere and later dumped their bodies at an abandon place in Chamra Chowrangi after killing them.
Meanwhile, a property dealer was shot and injured in a targeted attack on Tariq Road. The injured was identified as Mohammad Jawwad Irani, son of Sadiq Irani. Police said that the victim was on his way to his home in Phase V, Defence, when two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him. He was taken to Aga Khan Hospital for medical treatment. Police officers said the victim was a former worker of the Pakistan People’s Party and presently doing his own property business. The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained.
Separately, a man was shot dead in Pakhtoonabad area. The victim was identified as 42 year-old Hazrat Rehman, son of Safdar Ali. Police said unidentified culprits called him out of his place, opened fire on him. Police suspected the motive behind the killing was personal enmity.
Another man, namely Anwar Ali, 35, son of Gul Muhammad, was mowed down near NIPA flyover. DSP Nasir Lodhi said the victim was sitting at his snooker club, where unidentified culprits killed him. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. Police believed the motive behind killing was a land dispute.
 No case was registered till the filling of this report.
