Man dies in grenade attack

KARACHI - A man died and two others hurt in a hand grenade attack on a house situated in Manghopir area here on Thursday.Police official informed that a grenade blast was occurred on a house situated at Mashki Para, Manghopir area within the remits of Manghopir police station. A man namely 32-year-old Salahuddin died on the spot while Rizwan and Nadeem sustained serious injuries.Police said that at least four armed riders on two motorbikes resorted to indiscriminate firing on the said house while throw a hand grenade on the house and manage flee from the scene.   Police said that the affected house was owned by Ameen, who was a drug peddler. Police suspected that the motive behind the incident was ongoing dispute between Ameen and his rival group Baba Kolo Group in Manghopir area. Further investigation was underway.Meanwhile, Sindh Culture Department has paid rich tribute to Ustad Muhammad Juman, a legendary musician and vocalist on the occasion of his 23rd death anniversary.Acknowledging services of the legend, Culture Department has set up “Ustad Muhammad Juman Music Gallery” at Sindh Museum, Hyderabad. Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palijo will inaugurate the gallery and attend a music programme to pay tribute to Ustad on January 29 at 3.00pm in Sindh Museum, Hyderabad.
