KARACHI - Two suspects were killed during an exchange of fire with the police in North Nazimabad area here on Tuesday.
A police constable namely M Azam was also wounded during an exchange of fire.
Police said the suspects were busy looting a passersby when the police intercepted them and killed them after an exchange of fire. They also recovered weapons from their possession. Later, the bodies of the suspected criminals were shifted to morgue for identification after medicolegal formalities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
IGP Sindh AD Khwaja announced certificate and cash reward of Rs100,000 for the injured constable who fought bravely and gunned down two criminals in an encounter.
At least four criminals including the members of the proscribed organisations were arrested during the Rangers targeted operations in different parts of the metropolis including Ghazi Town, Shah Latif Town, Bin Qasim, Gulberg, Kashmir Colony, Keamari and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Weapons and narcotics were also recovered from their possession.
Later, the injured constable Azam succumbed to injuries.
