KARACHI - As many as 4500 candidates appeared in the pre-admission entry test for the bachelors degree programmes announced by Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) for the academic year 2014 held at Karachi Expo Centre here on Sunday under the strict security measures.
A total of 400 invigilators have performed their duties to look at thousands of candidates appeared in the test. The ratio of female candidates in the attendance of the candidates was higher than the previous year.
The test was held on the time as the examining authority has made huge arrangement for the success of the event. A large number of candidates came from Gilgit, Biltistan and Azad Kashmir to appear in the test besides other parts of the four provinces.
Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Engr. Muhammad Adil Usman, visited the examination centre and appraised arrangements of the authorities concerned.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Jawaid Hassan Rizvi pointed out that keeping the new emerging trends, the university is introducing 3 new programmes – Software engineering, Architecture and Bioinformatics this year, to meet the growing market demands.
Results will be announced in the mid December that may be checked on SSUET Notice Board and also at the university’s website www.ssuet.edu.pk
Pre-entry test of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) Karachi was held peacefully in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Islamabad on Saturday.
Vice Chancellor DUET Faizullah Abbasi visited the entry test centre in Karachi and expressed satisfaction over the peaceful holding of pre-admission test. The test at other centre also remained peaceful.

Jiangsu Normal University, Xuzhou, China Prof Zhou Rong, LUMS Prof Dr Muhammad Waseem, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities & Chairman Department of History Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla will also speak the conference.
