Declaring it a third degree fire, the spokesperson citing the firefighters said the presence of cotton and chemical inside the factory caused delay in extinguishing the blaze, adding that the firefighters were able to douse flames after hectic efforts spreading over at least seven hours.
No loss of life was reported, while the fire caused the loss of millions of rupees.
“Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it seems that short- circuiting was the probable cause,” the spokesperson added.
