KARACHI - Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) staged a sit-in outside Supreme Court Karachi Registry against the killing of its workers in different areas of metropolis.
After the target killing of ASWJ worker Muhammad Imran, the family, residents of the area and ASWJ workers took the body to Saddar Parking Plaza and protested demanding arrest of the killers.
Later, they marched towards Supreme Court Karachi Registry to register their protest.
The family member, resident and workers of ASWJ stage a sit-in protest with the body of their worker and demanded Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chudary to take a sou-motto action against the routine killing of the ASWJ workers.
Talking to The Nation, ASWJ Spokesman Maulana Akbar Saeed Farooqi said that earlier another ASWJ worker Annus was tortured to death and police found his body which sustained marks of torture.
He said that Annus was arrested by Rangers last Saturday while he was registering protest against the killing of the religious clerics. He alleged that Rangers had tortured him to death.
Farooqi said that government had failed to take any action despite several protests against the killing of innocent people in the city.
