Nawaz’s politics revolves around Punjab alone, says minister

KARACHI - Sindh Excise and Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla has maintained that the centre of Nawaz Sharif’s politic revolves around Punjab only.
He was talking to various delegations in his office, said a statement issued here on Thursday.
The minister was of the view that the connections of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with Sindhi nationalists were an effort to deceive the people of Sindh.
He further stated that the people of Sindh are united under the banner of Pakistan Peoples Party. Chawla said that the PPP was a party having federal approach.
He pointed out that the nationalists could never win a seat in Sindh. Chawla maintained that Mian Nawaz Sharif’s adjustment with nationalists showed his ‘provincialism’.
He counseled that Nawaz Sharif should pay attention towards the plight of poor people of Punjab and curb crime rate in his own province.
Chawla added that PPP workers and leaders, by following the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, are working for the development of Pakistan.
He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party had roots in all the provinces including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit/Baltistan and in the coming general elections would show that the people were with the PPP.
Chawla pointed out that the PPP did not believe in ‘Sindh Card’ and that this fake slogan was invented by those who raised the slogan of ‘Jag Punjabi Jag’, he maintained.
The people of Sindh would never vote in favour of nationalists as they firmly believe in unity of masses. He said that PPP believes in service of the people and previous four and half years were the clear proof of this service.
