KARACHI - A warehouse of the garment factory situated in Landhi Industrial Area, Karachi was gutted on Saturday. Fire broke out at the third floor of the garment factory in Landhi Industrial Area. Initially, the fire brigade department dispatched two fire tenders at the site while six more fire tenders were also dispatched.Due to high fire intensity, fire tenders from the entire city were called at the site, said an official of the fire brigade department. Score of male and female workers were present at the factory when the incident occurred but all of them were safely rescued. Fire tenders were unable to extinguish the fire because it broke out at the third floor and the fire department unable to dispatch the snorkel in time. The area police also reached the site to participate in the rescue operation. The police also compelled to charge the crowd with batons when the rescuers were facing problems in the operation. The police were waiting for the report of fire brigade. Quaidabad SHO Amanullah Marwat said apparently, there was no need of registration of the FIR as the fire broke out accidentally. “We will lodge an FIR if we found any criminal behind the incident,” he added.Law enforcers remained safe in both the bomb blasts in Site area here on Saturday. Militants exploded a half kilogramme explosive device with the help of a mobile phone device near the police post in Site area. The blast did not harm anybody. Another bomb containing six kilogramme of explosive with pellets went off within an hour. Law enforcers including police, rangers and experts of bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot following the blasts. Following the incident, law enforcers made thorough search operation in adjacent localities including Pathan Colony, Frontier Colony and others. They took several suspects into custody. Police suspected terrorists had an aim to target the police check posts but all the police personnel remained safe in the blasts.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
