Dhoni plays down missing Indian flag at National Stadium

KARACHI - Indian cricket team skipper Mohinder Singh Dhopni escaped a question about Indian flag, which was missing from the poles in front of the National Stadium where national flags of the six countries playing in the 9th edition of the Asia Cup were fluttering. Dhoni was confronted with the tricky question about missing flag during the media conference held after his team had thumped minnows Hong Kong for its first victory in the group B league. An Indian journalist, who had noticed the missing Indian flag from the poles in front of the National Stadium asked Dhoni to comment. Dhoni keeping his cool responded saying that it was a matter for the team management to look into. Indian print and TV channels journalists have arrived here to cover the action and dig some scoops. One lucky journalist having nose for the news and a keen eye even better than a horses of PC officials now in the city noticed the missing Indian flag. Not only he, but some of his TV channel friends took the shot of the nude pole where the Indian flag was to be hoisted along with flags of their five nations filed a story on the story. When the Indian scribe insisted and repeated the question to Dhoni, the Indian skipper nipped the query with al terse reply " no comment." No responsible of the PCB official was available to comment on the incident, which is bound to come up when the PCB chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf arrives here. Some unknown PCB official moved quickly and put the Indian flag where it belonged. Flags of host Pakistan,  defending champions Sri Lanka. Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and UAE were fluttering in monsoon wind.
