KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has welcomed the address of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari before the General Assembly of United Nations, and lauded the views/expressions thereby condemned the incitement of hate against Muslims. Qaim said that the President had highlighted strongly condemnation of acts of hate against the faith of billion of Muslims of the world and the Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He said that President of Pakistan has supported the rights of Palestinian People and an independent – Palestinean State, with admission Palestine as a full member of United Nations.Qaim also lauded the views of President Asif Ali Zardari against terrorism in Pakistan resulting huge loss of 7000 Pakistan soldiers and policemen and over 37,000 civilians. He further said that President had fully endorsed and represented the sentiments of people, besides highlighting role of neighboring friendly countries like China, Iran etc and endorsing full support to the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. The CM congratulated the President Mr Zardari on behalf of government and people of Sindh for his strong speech depicted on real issues faced by people of the world.Meanwhile, renowned religious scholar and chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munibur Rehman, has hailed President Asif Ali Zardari’s address at the General Assembly session of the United Nations.He said here on Wednesday that President Zardari drew the attention of the international community towards the blasphemous film that has hurt the sentiments of the Muslims around the world. Mufti Munib said that by doing so President Zardari represented the sentiments of the people of Pakistan as well as the Muslims the world over.He further stated that there is a need for coming up with a strategy in consultation with the international community to address this problem.Mufti Munib also called for convening the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) on the issue.Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Karachi, Qari Muhammad Usman on Wednesday welcomed President Asif Ali Zardari’s address to the United Nations’ General Assembly and said President Asif Ali Zardari rightly represented the Muslim Ummah especially the Muslims of Pakistan on the blasphemy issue. In his comments to APP here, Usman urged the Muslim community to prove their unity in protecting the sanctity of Islam that includes extreme respect for Allah Almighty , all the holy prophets and the holy books.Every Muslim on the earth must strongly resist any action or speech that amounts to disrespect of any of the above, he emphasised.He said that the Muslims Ummah especially Pakistani government and the people to rise up and put pressure on the United States government to take strict legal action against those involved in the blasphemous act which has very seriously hurt Muslims of the world.He said that the US government should also be pressurised to do proper and effective legislation to stop such acts of blasphemous in future.
