Railway cop guns down wife in Karachi

KARACHI - A railway policeman reportedly shot dead his wife in Railway Colony, while two alleged bandits were killed in separate parts of the city, on Sunday.
According to details, a woman was shot dead by her husband over some domestic issue in Railway Colony within the jurisdiction of Frere Police Station. Police said that the deceased was identified as 50-year-old Kaniza Akbar. Police arrested the accused and recovered a pistol from his possession. The accused was personnel of Railway police and recently posted in Cantt Railway Police Station.
Separately, an alleged bandit was killed during an encounter with police in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area within the premises of Aziz Bhatti Police Station. The deceased bandit along with his two accomplices was busy looting valuables from citizens. Police reached at the scene, and after the exchange of fire, the bandit sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot. However, his accomplices managed to escape from the scene in the cover of fire.
Separately, an alleged bandit was knocked to death by a bus of pilgrims in Manghopir area. Police said that the robber along with his three accomplices was trying to loot a bus of pilgrims near Northern Bypass.  He stood in front of the bus, forcing the driver to stop, but he crushed one of the robbers. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to morgue for identification after completing medico-legal formalities.
