KARACHI- Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday visited Corps Headquarters Karachi. He was given detailed briefing on operational, training and administrative matters of the Karachi Corps. He was also briefed about the overall law and order situation in Karachi. Earlier on arrival, he was received by Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani, Corps Commander Karachi, said a press release of ISPR.Later, the COAS visited the headquarters of Airport Security Force (ASF). Addressing the troops of ASF, he commended their professionalism, commitment and acknowledged their valor in averting a terrorist attack at Karachi airport in May this year. Sharif met with the families of ASF martyrs and appreciated their sacrifices. He emphasised the need for more harmony and coordination among all the security forces and intelligence agencies for an integrated response towards defeating terrorists’ threat. He also pledged army’s fullest support in enhancing the ASF’s capacity and anti-terrorists training of the troops like it provided to the police forces across the country.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
