Karachi teachers out against troubles

KARACHI - The Sindh Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) staged a protest in favour of their demands outside Karachi Press Club on Monday.
The leaders of GSTA were of the view that government did not want to resolve the problems of teachers in Sindh.
They said, “Teachers demand their genuine rights, they want completion of their demands regarding time-scale, teaching allowance, son quota, conveyance allowance and other due facilities.
The association had been called by the Sindh education department for talks, but the GSTA had replied that they had held talks several time with the officials concerned but their problems remained unresolved. Protests, sit-ins and a token hunger strike of teachers continued on the third consecutive day on Saturday in Sukkur, Jacobabad and other towns in favour of their demands.
