Karachi operation to be intensified

KARACHI - In the wake of the attack on Pak army’s vehicle on Tuesday, authorities have decided to speed up Karachi Operation.

Security sources stated more raids will be conducted in different areas of the city to arrest culprits involved in anti-state activities. The increased number of raids will be conducted in slums in the outskirts of the city.

The sources also revealed that operation will continue till the last terrorist got apprehended while facilitators will also be surrounded till the end.

Funeral prayers of two martyred army men were offered in Karachi today (Wednesday).

Two soldiers including Lance Naik Razzaq and Sepoy Khadim Hussain were shot dead Tuesday when motorcycle gunmen opened fire on their pick-up truck in the southern city of Karachi.

Both were shot in the head and face, Dr Kaleem Shaikh, at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical College, said.

Sindh police has formed a special team to probe the incident.

According to preliminary investigation, no bullet shells were recovered from the crime scene as it is suspected that the attackers might have used a bag while firing 9mm pistols to leave no trace behind.

Army spokesperson stated that victim Razzaq belonged to Naushehro Feroze and Khadim Hussain was from Dadu.

On the other hand, the Sindh Home Ministry has announced Rs5 million reward for anyone who provides information on the terrorists involved in the attack.

Meanwhile Lance Naik Razzaq was buried in Naushero Feroz and Sepoy Khadim Hussain in Dadu  with full military honours after their Namaz-e-Janaza.

The Namaz-e-Janazas of the two army personnel were attended by large number of people of the area and their friends and relatives.
