KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) legislators on Sunday rejected the summary of proposed increase in electricity tariff and underlined the need to resolve the issues of price-hike and load-sheddding. In their joint statement, MQM legislators said that the electricity prices were unaffordable for ordinary people of the country adding that the proposed raise in electricity tariff would multiply the problems of masses. They demanded of the government to take the measures to resolve the problems of masses adding that increase in electricity prices were directly affected the industrial sector and others departments. They further demanded of the high-ups to withdraw the proposed increase in electricity tariff and provide special relief to the ordinary people. Moreover, MQM lawmakers in Sindh Assembly have denounced seize of approved funds of City government Karachi and termed the decision a conspiracy to stop the development process. They said that the massive development work done by the CDGK in Karachi had changed the face of the metropolis adding that people were enjoying the facilities like underpasses, overhead bridges, signal free corridors and other projects. MQM MPAs said that seize of approved funds of City Government was a tactic to stop the development process of the metropolis. They demanded of the high-ups that the concerned authorities should take reasonable steps so that the seized funds of the city government should be issued and take action against those culprits, who were involved in this anti-humanitarian progress.
