Security officer of President Zardari escapes life attempt, two killed in Karachi target killing

Security officer of President Asif Ali Zardari escaped a life attempt but his two guards were injured in an assault. Two persons were killed and three injured in separate target killing incidents in different areas of Karachion Sunday. According to police unidentified armed men attacked the vehicle of Bilal Sheikh, the security officer of President Asif Ali Zardari in Firdous Colony, Gul Bahar Police Station jurisdiction on late Saturday night. The attackers hurled hand grenade and opened fire at the vehicle of Bilal Sheikh but he remained unhurt. However his two guards were injured in the attack. The attackers fled away from the scene leaving the vehicle and arms on the spot after retaliatory fire from the security guards. The police took the vehicle and arms of the attackers into custody and started investigations. Later Bilal Sheikh told the media persons he has been receiving life threats from unknown persons for the last few months. Meanwhile, In Saeedabad area, unknown armed men gunned down one person identified as Saif ur Rehman 30, and fled away from the scene. Shehzad Maseeh 26, a rickshaw driver, was gunned down in Zia Colony area of Korangi by unknown armed men. Three people including city warden Noman Baig, Kamran 28, and Sameer were injured in separate firing incidents in Korangi and Liaquatabad localities.
