Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned the Muttahida Qaumi Movement against indulging in politics of agitation like Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, a private news channel reported.
“These long-drawn-out protest sit-ins have marred Pakistan’s image around the world. MQM is urged not to take the course of agitative ways of PTI,” said the young politician in a statement issued here on Sunday.
Bilawal’s statement came on the coattails of Altaf’s announcement to stage a PTI-like sit-in for the sake of safeguarding the democracy.
The PPP leader also came down hard on PTI for allegedly dragging the army into politics. “PTI’s calling military to its rescue should not become a justificatory precedent for others especially the MQM,” he added.
“MQM better not push its ‘politics of division’ any further. We will never let them carve up Sindh,” said Bilawal referring to MQM’s demands for new administrative units.
DEMAND TO SET UP ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS IS POINTLESS: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Mumtaz Ali Khan Bhutto has said that the demand to set up administrative units in Sindh is pointless as divisions and districts are already existed in the province.
Talking to various delegations at his residence here on Sunday, he said Sindh was a historic region and it would remain till the Judgment Day. The ethnic clashes in year 1973 were now being projecting incorrectly while the facts stated that Urdu-speaking got annoyed on the passage of the bill in the assembly over promulgating the Sindhi language in the public sector institutions. Urdu language was declared as national language earlier, he added.
Mumtaz further said people migrated from the India after the establishment of Pakistan was given much importance. They came empty-handed but now had they become prosperous. Even it is witnessed that this community had also enjoyed various key slots of the country including President, Chief of the Army Staff, governor, various ministries and other key posts.
He said Punjabi, Balochs, Pakhtun, Sindhis and Bengalis had struggled for establishment of Pakistan and sacrificed their wealth and lives. The people migrated from India would not be able to get shelter if the nations had not made the efforts for the establishment of the country, he added.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has strongly condemned the killings of innocent people in a bomb explosion at the IDPs camp in Hungu district on Sunday.
In a statement, he expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of eight lives in the explosion. He prayed for the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this loss. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured people.
