LARKANA:: At least one Rangers official Shahid Siyal was killed and four other Rangers among 13 people injured in a bomb blast today.
According to Rangers sources, a vehicle of the Rangers was attacked with a hand grenade at Mirokhan chowk near central jail. At least five Rangers officials were injured in the explosion. One Rangers official succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The injured were shifted to Chandeka Medical college hospital.
According to some reports nine passersby were also injured in the explosion.
The police and Rangers rushed to the blast site and cordoned off the area. The Rangers carried out search operation in the area and arrested two suspects who were shifted to undisclosed location for investigation.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the new Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah have strongly condemned the blast and directed the police officials to arrest the suspects at earliest.
Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto has strongly condemned time-bomb blast near Rangers vehicle in Larkana resulting in martyrdom of Larkana resident Rangers personnel Shahid Siyal and injuries to three other Rangers among 13 people today.
The PPP Chairman asked Sindh government to catch the terrorists involved in the bomb blast and provide best possible medical facilities to all those injured.
Bilawal Bhutto expressed sympathies with the family of martyred sepoy and prayed for the departed soul.
Meanwhile, DG Rangers Major Gen Bilal Akbar visited Larkana blast sites and Rangers office. He was briefed about the blast and security situation in the area.
