LAHORE - A group show of watercolour paintings opened yesterday at Coopera Art Gallery yesterday featuring about five dozens of vibrant artworks hung on the walls of the Gallery by 26 senior and young Artists from Karachi, Lahore and other cities.
Coopera organised the mega show with the objective to provide an opportunity to the art lovers and students to see the variety of genre of artworks in watercolours under one roof.
The paintings possessing various schools of thoughts representing social and cultural life of the people like seaside, busy areas of the cities, suburban areas, folk singers and spring season were show showing their professional skill.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof Dr Shaukat Mahmood aka Maxim who praised the work of the artists and the efforts of the Coopera Art Gallery. He said that the event would be very useful for all classes which would facilitate promotion of art and culture.
Participants artists included Dr Ajaz Anwar, Abdul Hayee, Ghalib Baqar, Anwar Ali, Ghulam Abbas, Kamangar, Dr Manzoorul Husain, Saleem Akhtar, Zafar Mahmood, A Arif, Shahjahan Ahmad, Amin Kashmani, Mukhar Ryder, Mahmood Alam, Mahboob Au, Nazir Ahmad, Khalid Latif, Sarfraz Musawar, A Majeed Khaskhaily, M Shafiq, Dilawar Ali, Humayun Azam, M Sharif, Mudassar Kazmi, Farooq Aftab, Sadia Amin Raja and lmran Sultan.
Large number of Artists, art lovers and students participated at the opening ceremony and took great interest in the work of the Artists. The exhibition will remain open daily for the public from except holidays until May 14.
Separately, a group show of paintings titled “Blossoms in Spring” kicked off other day featuring more than 20 artists at Oyster Art Gallery. A large number of art lovers and art fanciers included students perusing arts were present in large number present. The exhibition was inaugurated by Walled City Lahore Authority DG and Chairman Lahore Arts Council Kamran Lashari. He said that good aspect of the exhibition that it catered all kinds of paintings included landscape, canal, and highlighted very happy accepts of our society. “Highlighting with so many aspects shows artists in our society are exhibiting what they feel.”
