Protest against lawyers manhandling

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Doctors of Sheikh Zayed Hospital on Monday held a rally from the hospital gate to the Mew Campus to protest against manhandling of their colleagues at the hands of lawyers and registration of an FIR with Muslim Town Police Station. The protesting doctors also went on a token strike to press for their demand of withdrawal of criminal case against three SZH doctors. The participants of the rally chanted slogans against lawyers who attacked the hospital and against the local SHO. They said that in the presence of the Healthcare Commission Act 2010, an FIR could not be launched against a healthcare provider. After the protest the PMA, MTA, YDA and para medical staff representatives of SZH announced to hold demonstration and token strike on Tuesday (today). They threatened to go on complete strike if the FIR was not withdrawn till Wednesday (tomorrow).
