Crackdown on political workers continues

LAHORE - Police launched crackdown against workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf, Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Muslim League-Q and took a number of them into custody yesterday night.

The security personnel continued raids till late night as they have been directed to arrest the opposition leaders and workers across the provincial capital.

Police also seized more than 200 containers to seal Lahore and all other ways out to Islamabad.

The raids started after the meeting of CCPO Amin Wains with divisional SPs, said the sources. Police took those workers into custody who were seen active on the roads, the sources added.

All SPs were directed to start crackdown against PTI, PML-Q and PAT workers in the city. As many as 18 containers had also been put on the roads leading to the residence of Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif in Model Town.
