LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed Ferozewala Tehsil Municipal Officer to stop sale of sacrificial animals at opens places and shift them to cattle markets.
Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Shahdra Town, had filed the petition and submitted that the sale of sacrificial animals was continued at open places in Shahdra Town and surroundings. He said the residents of the area and their businesses were greatly disturbed due to such practice.
The petitioner pleaded that nobody was allowed to sell animals anywhere except of the markets established by the government. An officer from the local municipal committee appeared before the judge and submitted that they would make arrangements and pleaded the court for two more days.
After hearing the arguments, Justice Mamoon-ur-Rasheed accepted the plea directing the officer to make immediate arrangements for shifting animals to the place specified for them. The proceedings adjourned till Thursday.
