Workers warn long march against price hike

LAHORE (PR) - Pakistan Workers Confederation General Secretary Khurshid Ahmed on Sunday condemned the decision of the government of raising the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene. He warned that the workers would march to Islamabad if the government did not change its unfair policies.
In a press release issues here, Khurshid Ahmad said that rulers had dropped the bomb of sky rocketing price hike upon the poor working class who already was subject to unemployment and power outages.
He said that the decision would leave the industries in no position to compete with the global market as China and India were selling goods at much cheaper rates. Khurshid Ahmad further said that the ruling government had mortgaged national economy in the hands of the World Bank and IMF and instead of adopting national economic self reliance policy the rulers were bombing the nation with price hike and loadshedding.
