Cloudy weather forecast

LAHORE - Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities on Wednesday with experts predicting the wet spell to continue during the next couple of days.  Rains, winds and overcast conditions caused considerable decrease in the mercury level during the day and at nighttime, making weather pleasant.
Rain-thundershower occurred at scattered places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi divisions and at isolated places in Sargodha, Gujranwala, Quetta and D I Khan division.
In Lahore, thick clouds covered the sky in the morning that followed by strong winds and scattered showers. Cloudiness, winds and scattered showers made weather pleasant by helping maintaining the temperature to a low level during the day and at nighttime. Maximum and minimum temperature was recorded 24 degree Celsius and 17 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 79 per cent.
People come out of their houses in the evening to enjoy pleasant weather. Major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people including women and children.  According to the experts, a westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next 02 to 03 days.  The meteorological department has forecast cloudy weather with chances of rains for Lahore during the next couple of days. Rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions), upper Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu divisions), FATA, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places in north Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat divisions), D I Khan, D G Khan, Multan, Faisalabad, Larkana divisions.
Isolated heavy falls with hailstorm are also expected in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions.
On Wednesday, Lower Dir received 52 mm rain, Parachinar 40 mm, Malamjabba and Pattan 37 mm each, Kohat and Saidu Sharif 35 mm each, Kakul 34 mm, Balakot 33 mm, Muzaffarabad 28 mm, Rawalakot 27 mm, Murree 26 mm, Cherat 24 mm, Dir and Garhi Dupatta 23 mm each, Rawalpindi 20 mm, Mirkhani 17 mm, Peshawar 16 mm, Kalam 15 mm, Islamabad and Drosh 12 mm each, Chakwal and Kotli 06 mm each, Chitral and Sialkot 05 mm each, Quetta 04 mm, Bhakkar, D I Khan and Joharabad 02 mm each, Astore and Gujrat 01 mm each.
