LAHORE - Two boys were killed and a man wounded critically when a truck bumped into a motorcycle-rickshaw near Suggian Bridge in Shahdara, police said on Wednesday.
The condition of the rickshaw driver was said to be critical at hospital.
Resident of Sharkpur Muhammad Arshad was on way on a motorcycle-rickshaw along with his nephew and a neighbour when a truck smashed into the three-wheeler near Suggian Bridge, killing the his co-riders.
The dead were named as Sajid, 15, and Zain, 14. Arshad was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries. The truck driver managed escape. Police have impounded the truck and are investigating. The bodies were moved to the morgue. According to locals, both the boys were factory workers.
A police official said that the rickshaw driver, in violation of the traffic rules, was going one way when a speedy truck bumped into it from the opposite side.

The boy, unidentified so far, fell unconscious shortly after a speedy rickshaw hit him from the rear side near Shah Farid Chowk a couple of days ago. He was shifted the Jinnah hospital where he expired on early Wednesday. The Sabzazar police have registered a case and are investigating.

A police spokesperson said that a police team headed by In-charge investigation Green Town police Muhammad Akram arrested Imran alias Mana and his accomplice Omar. The police have also recovered cash and other looted valuables from their possession. During preliminary investigations, the arrested bandits have confessed to 27 incidents of street crimes. Further investigations are underway.
