Condolences over Nizami’s demise keep pouring in

LAHORE  - Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the services rendered by Nawa-i-Waqt Group Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami for the country will always be remembered.
Dar expressed theses views while condoling with Nawa-i-Waqt Group Chairperson Rameeza Majid Nizami at her office on Friday.
He said that it was a coincidence that the veteran journalist died on Friday, Ramazan 27, the same date when Pakistan came into existence.
Meanwhile, former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Majid Nizami was an indefatigable activist of Pakistan’s independence movement who had the honour of working under the tutelage of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He expressed his grief while condoling with Rameeza Nizami at her residence. He was accompanied by his son Syed Mosa Gilani, former leader of PPP and former Governor Syed Ahmed Mahmood.
Gilani said that he had a warm relationship with Nizami. He said that when General Musharraf had thrown him behind the bars, it was Majid Nizami who came over as chief guest to launch his book, “Chah-e-Yousaf Say Sada” and appreciated it.
Mahmood said that he had come from London to condole the demise of Nizami.
