LAHORE - The tension between the bar and bench over the issue of misbehaviour of a female judge of Lahore High Court with lawyers defused after LHC Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik paid a surprise visit to the bar here on Saturday.
The bar representatives and lawyers welcomed the chief justice who was accompanied by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. On his visit, CJ Malik said he was having utter respect for the Bar, adding he had come to the home (Bar) where nobody apologised to anyone. “There is no dispute between us,” he stated.
Later, LHCBA Association President Pir Masood Chishti addressed the general house meeting and said the chief justice by visiting the bar showed a big heart and consoled the lawyers. He hoped no incident of ‘misbehaviour’ with any lawyer would occur in future.
The members of the bar had boycotted the court of Justice Mrs Erum Sajad Gull following her alleged misbehaviour with bar’s president Pir Masood Chishti during the hearing of a case.
