Private schools reject vacation schedule

LAHORE - The private schools which form 20 per cent of the school going children will not observe three months summer vacations schedule announced by the government from June 1 to Sept 6. The private schools will observe summer vacations for a period of two months from June 15 to August 15. The Punjab University will observe summer vacations from July 1 to Aug 30 for a period of two months. The GCU, LCWU, Kinnaird and NCA will also observe two months summer vacations. The degree and inter colleges have already been closed down. The Intermediate Part II 2010 examination have just concluded while the Part I examinations have started. The BA, BSc examination also concluded in April last and MA, MSc, Part I annual examination 2010 will commence from June 6, the Part II examination from July 7. As such no classes were being conducted in the colleges. The govt has directed the private schools not to organise summer camps during the summer vacations. The government has also directed the government and private schools not to receive three months or two months tuition fee in lump sump.
