Medical board set up for Jamil Fakhris treatment

LAHORE Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervez has constituted a medical board for the treatment of famous film and TV artist Jamil Fakhri. Dr Pervez informed that five-member medical board comprised Professor of Medicine Dr Irshad Hussain, Professor of Anesthesia Dr Khawar Ali, Professor of Medicine Dr Sajid Obaidullah, Associate Professor of Neurology Dr Javed Athar and Medical Specialist Dr Munir Iqbal. Jamil Fakhri, the legendary Pakistani actor, is still in coma despite two days treatment at Mayo Hospital. He was admitted to hospital due to severe paralysis attack on Tuesday. The actor is in serious condition at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. His family has appealed his fans and people of Pakistan to pray for his early recovery. Ali Nawaz Fakhri, son of the ailing artist, told TheNation that his father suffered a massive stroke on Monday and they rushed him to a private hospital near Cavalry Ground. But the doctors suggested to take him to the Mayo Hospital. The doctors said that such cases take time to recover. They said the stroke had affected the right side of Fakhris brain, which means the left side of his body is affected. They said he was on ventilator with no signs of any improvement till filing of this report. It may be mentioned here that the son of Jamil Fakhri, Ali Fakhri was killed mysteriously in the US in December 2010. His heath deteriorated rapidly after the tragedy. Jamil Fakhari spent 38 years of his life to serve the people of Pakistan and Pakistan Television Network. He performed Jafar Hussain for PTV super-hit TV drama Andhera Ujala. A number of his colleagues and friends including Irfan Khosat, Qavi Khan and others visited the hospital to inquire after him.
