LAHORE - Shab-e-Barat, the night of blessings and glory, will be observed tonight  with traditional religious zeal and fervor.
Faithful will go to the mosques to offer special prayers throughout the night amid elaborate security arrangements. The mosques will be specially illuminated to mark the occasion. Prayers for the prosperity and security of the country and the Muslim Ummah will be offered.
Special Nawafil and Shabina will be offered by the people to seek blessings of Allah and forgiveness for their sins. Besides, they will visit graveyards to pray for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.
Special sweet dishes will be distributed among the relatives and neighbours apart from the poor and the destitute. In addition to that, food in large quantity will be distributed among the orphans and the destitute at special langars in mosques.
