Plea against ban on flights over residential areas LHC seeks reply from govt, CAA


LAHORE – The Lahore High Court on Thursday sought reply from Civil Aviation Authority, provincial and the federal governments on a petition seeking ban on trainees’ plane flights over the residential areas.
Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhary contended that the flights of the trainees’ jets were not allowed over the residential areas but this was being done. He contended many people had lost their lives owing to the planes’ crash in these areas. The petitioner pointed out that this area where an incident took place last week was un-residential area but now it had converted into very congested and populated area of City.
The petitioner pleaded that population had increased in all these areas but the flights of trainee pilots were continued. He quoted the last week incident where two pilots died and said that however there was no more causality seen but it was possible, so it should be stopped.
He prayed to direct the government to stop such flights of trainee pilots over the residential area.
The court accepting his plea issued notices to provincial, federals governments and to civil aviation and directed to file reply with in ten days.
