LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that elimination of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism is of vital importance for economic progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
He was talking to members of national and provincial assemblies of various districts, on Sunday. He said that the menace of terrorism would be rooted out with the force of national unity and victory in the war against terrorism was the mission of every member of the society.
“The brave people of the country will win the war against terrorism. Every effort will be made for ensuring a secure future for the coming generations and federal and provincial governments are moving forward in the war against terrorism with complete harmony,” the CM held.
The chief minister said that peace is of key importance for achieving the goal of self-reliance and vigorous action is being taken against terrorists without any discrimination of good or bad. He said that the nation is writing a new history of sacrifices in the war against terrorism and terrorists will be brought to their logical end.
He said that the nation is determined to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and those who have shed the blood of innocent Pakistanis will have to pay a heavy price.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the National Action Plan is a joint strategy to root out the menace of terrorism from the country and its implementation is yielding positive results. He said that ridding the country of terrorism is the voice of every Pakistani and the decisions taken with collective wisdom in the war against terrorism will yield positive results and the country will soon emerge as a haven of peace. He said that terrorism, extremism and sectarian are a threat to the survival of the country.
He said that a few terrorists through their nefarious activities cannot shake the resolve of the nation against terrorism. He said that terrorists are enemies of national progress and prosperity and checking the trend of extremism is of paramount importance for the promotion of trade, industrial, economic and social activities.
Shahbaz Sharif said that government, Pak army and concerned institutions are moving ahead with full determination for the eradication of terrorism and will achieve victory in the war against terrorism. He said that the entire nation is fully supporting its armed forces at this critical juncture of national history. He said that political leadership and the whole nation are united to foil the evil designs of the enemies of peace.
The chief minister said that every effort would be made for making Pakistan a peaceful strong, safe and prosperous country.
He said that effective measures are being adopted expeditiously in Punjab under National Action Plan.
The delegation included Member National Assembly Mian M. Rasheed, Members Provincial Assembly Hassan Riaz, Ali Abbas, Ch. Iftikhar Hussain, Karam Dad Wala, Saira Iftikhar and Mary Gill who also informed the Chief Minister about development schemes in their respective areas.
