OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE SP Mujahid Squad Rommel Akram on Tuesday deputed 14 tiger squads around leading banks of the City to protect the citizens and their properties. These special squads will remain on duty from 8am till the banks are closed. The recent step has been initiated by the top command of the City police in wake of increasing incidents of bank dacoities in broad daylights. The aforesaid squads will also patrol on Mall Road, Zaffar Ali Road, Davis Road and other important other branches of banks in the City. Earlier, the SP Mujahid Squad directed the personnel to focus on the specified points and ensure foolproof security arrangements. Action against traffic violators ordered: Chief Traffic Officer Ahmed Mobin has directed the both divisional SPs to deploy Fold Lifters around various important shopping malls and leading markets to 'hunt wrong parked vehicles during the upcoming Eid days. These folk lifters have been deployed in Naqi Market, Panorama, Liberty Market, Anarkali, Shadman Market, Barkat Market, Main Bazaar Ichra, Moon Market, Saddar Bazaar Cantonment, and etc. Earlier, the CTO directed the commuters to avoid parking vehicles at other than parking lots. He, however, strictly asked the traffic wardens to take indiscriminate action against the violators.
