Leaders see no political future of Musharraf

LAHORE - Leaders of various political parties have said that former president Pervez Musharraf possesses a horrible list of blunders for which nation will never forgive him and he has no political future. Senior leader of PML-N, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq talking to TheNation on Friday regarding political future of Pervez Musharraf said that the shows of former dictator to enter into political arena had failed, as he was the architect of various notorious actions in Pakistan during his regime. The memories of the people of this country were not so weak that they forget these crimes against the nation and institutions, Raja further said. He predicted that Musharraf had no political future because the dictator had destroyed every institution of the country especially his own organisation during his eight-year rule. He said that Lal Masjid operation, Nawab Akbar Bugtis assassination, drone attacks and the current bloodshed in the country were all the gifts of Musharrafs regime. Senator Kamil Ali Agha, senior PML-Q leader when contacted said that Musharraf had distanced himself from the Muslim League during his regime, as he had conspired against the PML-Q by holding talks with the PPP for making a new political set up. Another PML-Q leader, Makhdoom Faisal Hayat said in this regard that he had advised Musharraf if he wanted to launch himself in practical politics he should come to Pakistan. Ijaz-ul-Haq, chief of PML (Zia) in his remarks to this scribe said that he did not foresee any political future of Musharraf, as political parties could not be run with 'remote control and Musharraf should come back to country if he wanted to participate in politics. He said that Musharraf should have included 'two defacto premiers, Lt Gen (r) Hamid and Tariq Aziz of his regime in his party to tell the masses that he possess the loyalty of his old friends. Ijaz said that the 'biggest gift of Musharraf era was NRO, which compelled the motherland to face the existing problems. PML (Zia) chief said that nation could not forgive Musharraf, as his list of horrible blunders including attack on judiciary and media. Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, president PML (Functional) Punjab said Musharraf was a power hungry man and he wanted to enter into politics to grab power and he had no care for the country. He said that Musharraf was part of history and he did nothing for the country during his eight-year strong rule and what he could do now. Sami Ullah Khan, acting president PPP Punjab said that the 'screen shows of Musharraf had failed in Pakistan and he would not enter into politics if he contacted the masses directly and not through tele-press moot from abroad. Sami predicted the political future of Musharraf similar to that of the Sheikh Rasheed.
