MoU inked for 60-bed THQ hospital

LAHORE - An agreement was signed between the Punjab government and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust regarding Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Bedian Road Lahore.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was the chief guest on the occasion. Under the agreement, Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust will operate 60-bed THQ hospital constructed on Bedian Road.
The Punjab government will provide all out assistance and facilities in this regard. Provincial Secretary Health Jawad Rafiq Malik and Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust Mian Muhammad Ahsan signed the agreement.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the agreement between the Punjab government and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust is an important step towards provision of public health facilities to the patients. He said that THQ Hospital constructed on Bedian Road will be made a state-of-the-art hospital and result in provision of modern health facilities to the people of the area.
He said that the hospital will be run on the pattern of Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital constructed in Muzaffargarh with the cooperation of Turkey. He said that Punjab government is spending billions of rupees on the development of health sector and provision of quality health facilities to the masses. He said that free treatment facilities are being provided to the patients in government hospitals and huge resources are being utilized for this purpose.
He said that a big programme is being implemented for the improvement and reforms in health sector. Shehbaz Sharif said that new hospitals have been constructed in the province while DHQ and THQ hospitals are being upgraded. Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq, former MPA Rana Mubasher Iqbal, Talha Burki, Chairman Planning & Development, secretaries of Finance and Information departments, Commissioner and DCO Lahore and representatives of Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust were present on the occasion.
