LAHORE A 55-year-old local businessman man shot dead his 22-year-old wife over some domestic dispute here in Samanabad area on Thursday, police sources said. Interestingly, the killer shot dead his wife in cold blood and later staged the drama that she committed suicide to mislead the police investigators. The police have arrested the killer and are investigating him. Resident of Bilal Gunj, Mian Shahid shot dead his wife Farah Naaz in his rented apartment in Gulzeb Colony, the vicinity of Samanabad police on early Thursday. Later he came out of his house and informed the local residents that his wife had committed suicide by shooting herself in the temple. The killer was so clever that he switched on the generator during load shedding in the area, and played full-volume music to finish the episode of his wife noiselessly. Police investigators said that the man had contracted his third marriage with deceased and took the ground portion of a 5-marla double-storey house in the area on rent for her to conceal his marriage from his parents. Muhammad Asif, brother of the deceased told the police that when his sister Farah Naaz came to know that her husband had already tied his knot with another two women she stared grilling him over the issue. On the day of incident, the couple exchanged harsh words on the same issue and Mian Shahid, who is the owner of several hotels in Bilal Gunj area, got infuriated, took out his pistol and shot her dead. Investigation Officer Khalid said that the woman had fallen in love with the middle-aged man and later tied her knot with him against the will of her parents. It was also second marriage of the deceased, the police officer added. Police sources further revealed that the killer had bad repute as he developed illicit relations with several women. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot, collected evidences from the crime scene and arrested the killer. The police have also removed the body to the morgue for autopsy. The police have registered the murder case against the killer on the complaint of Muhammad Asif. Further investigations are underway.
