LAHORE Education department has given additional charge of two senior positions to a junior officer surprisingly removing a senior officer from the said positions due to reasons best known to the secretary education, sources in the Education department confided to The Nation on Friday. They said that Khalid Mehmood was appointed as subject specialist BPS-17 (physical Education) Government Higher Secondary School Chak No. 13 Ranbheer Tehsil Nankana Sahib and now has been given two additional charges of Deputy District Education Officer(headquarter) Nankana Sahib and Deputy District Education Officer (women)Nankana Sahib in utter violation of the Education Policy 2000. sources claimed that as per said policy no official with less than 10 years of experience in his scale can be awarded the officiating charge in next scale. But the said blue eyed officer of the Education Department managed to get two illegal additional charges due to political influence. The senior officials have requested the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to intervene and inquire the matter which is earning bad name for the department and causing discouragement among the deserving staff members. It has been known that the influential official has the backing of a very high officer of the Education Secretariat.
