LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said the difficulties being faced by the commuters during construction of Metro Bus Service were soon going to change into a permanent relief as this project would bring about a revolution in the transport history of Pakistan.
He was talking to citizens and labourers during his surprise visit to the project. The CM was accompanied by Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Assembly Members Ramzan Bhatti, Haifz Mian Muhammad Nauman, Project Director BRT, Commissioner Lahore Division, DG LDA and concerned authorities.
He said metro bus system will result in a speedy, comfortable and economical travelling facility to the common man. He said that after the inauguration of the project, free transport service would be provided to the travelers for a few days. He further said that this public welfare project was soon to be completed and will bring about a great cultural change in the public transport system. The chief minister reviewed the pace of work at different sections from Gajjumatta to Civil Secretariat.
Shahbaz said work was being done on the project around the clock. He said he was aware of the problems of people but after the completion of this project, their temporary difficulties would change into a lasting relief. He said that metro bus project had been evolved for the benefit of the common man and the poor people as he believes that they have as much right over national resources as the rich. He said that PML-N’s government was taking practical steps to remove the disparity between the rich and poor and the metro bus project was a practical step in this direction.
Therefore, he said, the fare rate of metro bus will be kept within the reach of the common man for enabling him to avail this modern transport facility. He said that excellent arrangements had been made to facilitate the people during the construction of metro bus project route and the construction work of Kalma Chowk underpass while the construction work of the roads along the project was also being completed expeditiously. The Chief Minister during his visit directed concerned authorities and contractors to complete the project at the earliest while special attention should be paid to the standard of construction work. He said that there was a race against time and there was no room for delay.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif issued instructions for early completion of the construction of the drain at Ferozepur Road.
The Chief Minister also visited metro bus depot and directed the contractor to complete the work quickly while provision of modern parking facilities for the buses should be ensured. The Chief Minister during his visit also inspected construction work at Kalma Chowk underpass project and issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities. He said that Kalma Chowk underpass project would result in availability of signal-free journey and this project would be completed within a record period.
Sajjada Nasheen Kalas Sharif Sargodha, Pir Syed Shamim Sabir Shah called on the Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, on Sunday .
Expressing confidence in the leadership of PML-N Pir Syed Sabir Shah announced to join the party. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and ticket holder of PML-N from Mandi Bahauddin Nasir Bosal were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming the joining of Sajjada Nasheen Shahbaz said the popularity of the party was increasing day by day.
and the candidates of PML-N would achieve a thumping victory in the coming elections. He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had completed record development projects providing basic facilities to the masses and the fruits of these development projects were finally reaching to the people.
Talking on the occasion, Pir Syed Shamim Sabir Shah said that the President PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was capable to steer the country out of the quagmire of problems. He said that the entire nation was looking towards Mian Nawaz Sharif. Pir Syed Shamim Sabir Shah said that he will work to strengthen the party under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as a party worker.
